How to Limit Ticket Purchases Per User

Limit Ticket Purchases Per User

Written by Allison Charette

Description: To help more residents enjoy community events, organizers can now limit how many tickets one person can purchase for a given event.

Here's what that means for you:

• Residents see any ticket limits right on the event detail page, so there are no surprises at checkout.

• Once they’ve hit the limit, they won't be able to purchase additional tickets or join the waitlist for that event.

Think of it as a way to make sure everyone gets a fair shot at attending the events they love.

Key Users: Hub admins configuring ticketed events; residents purchasing tickets.

Use Case: A 400-home community hosts a popular end-of-summer concert and pool party every August. The event has a hard cap of 300 attendees due to the venue size, and tickets are free — but they go fast.

In past years, a handful of residents would snap up 8–10 tickets each, claiming extras "for guests" or simply to have flexibility. This left many families locked out within hours of tickets going live, flooding the community manager's inbox with complaints and requests for exceptions.

With per-person ticket limits in place, the HOA sets a maximum of 4 tickets per household. Now:

  • Residents see the 4-ticket limit right on the event page before purchasing

  • Once a resident hits their limit, they can't buy more or join the waitlist for additional tickets

  • More families get a fair shot, and the community manager spends less time fielding frustrated calls

The result is a more equitable experience for everyone — and a lot less stress for the team managing the event.

How to Access:

  • Admin | To Set Up: Log into the hub → Events → Ticketed Events → Select or + New Event → Tickets tab → Limit Ticket Purchases checkbox → Enter number of tickets any one user can purchase
